Typeform alternative: a form builder without response caps
5 min read · Updated October 21, 2026
Form builders usually differ in a few places that only matter once you have real traffic: how many responses you may collect, what happens when you hit the limit, whether logic and branding are locked to higher plans, and how well the tool keeps spam out. This guide lists what to compare and shows how Forms handles each point, so you can decide in a few minutes.
1. What happens at the response limit
Many tools cap the number of responses per month and make the form private or stop it when the cap is reached. Check the cap, whether it is shared by all your forms and what the next tier costs.
Forms has no hard cap. Every plan includes a free allowance of responses each month, and after that each response costs one credit. If you have no credits the form pauses and you are told, and your existing responses are never deleted.
2. Questions, logic and pages
Look for the question types you need and for conditional logic without an upgrade. Forms offers twenty field types: short and long text, email, phone, number, website, date, time, multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdown, yes or no, consent, rating, a 0 to 10 scale, ranking, file upload, hidden fields and layout blocks. Questions can be shown or hidden based on earlier answers, and a form can be split into pages or shown one question at a time.
3. Quizzes and scoring
If you run tests or training, check that the tool can score answers. Forms lets you mark the right answers and points, set a pass mark and a time per question, draw a random selection from a bigger pool and run the quiz in a full-screen secure mode. The score and the result go with every response, including in the webhook.
4. Where the answers go
- An email for every response, and automatic replies to the person who answered.
- Webhooks that send each response to your own system, Zapier, Make or n8n, plus Discord and Slack messages.
- CSV export of everything, and a PDF of a single response.
5. Spam, privacy and your own address
Open forms attract bots. Look for a human check, a password, a closing date, a limit on responses and one response per device. Forms has all of these, with a CAPTCHA that stays out of the way. People can open a form from a link, a QR code or an embed on your site, and the Business plan serves it on your own domain.

- Are the forms free?
- You can start free. Each plan includes a free allowance of responses every month, and extra responses cost one credit each.
